UnclassifiedPosition Summary:
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Trainer with the primary focus of coordination, management, and instruction of Okuma North America related trainings. As instructor, you will develop and deliver Okuma focused training in the areas of electrical, mechanical, maintenance, and programming for Okuma products. This will require consistent and thorough collaboration and communication with Okuma North America to stay updated on not only training demands but technology and specification updates as well. Secondary responsibilities will include support and responsibilities with the North Carolina Manufacturing Institute and Manufacturing Skills Standards Council. These duties and responsibilities will all be in support of the Okuma North America partnership and their clients/customers, and the support of manufacturing and logistics programs and employer. Instruction duties in courses such as measurement, safety , quality, processes, and maintenance are required. This position will serve alongside RCCC’s Business Services Account Managers as a subject matter expert to industries in building relationships, training programs , and solutions to complex business challenges.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in field related to area of assignment and four (4) years of progressive responsibility in area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of effective training and development practices and techniques and open to staying current with state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. Ability to communicate effectively with business and industry representatives, students, faculty, staff and the general public and product content. Ability to work independently and effectively multi-task, including scheduling, classroom/lab instruction and presenting to a variety of audiences, indicating (in a classroom setting and peer environment) that he/she possesses the required body of knowledge in the area of instruction being taught. Ability to practice professionalism and discretion, confidentiality as required per College, State, and Federal guidelines and laws. Ability to travel within a three-county service delivery area, and occasionally out of state, to fulfill client/partner and student needs. Ability to work flexible hours and lift heavy objects, such as machine parts, as machine parts, as needed to maintain equipment, perform classroom demonstrations, etc.

Monday through Friday ( 8:00am to 5:00pm) and weekends and evenings as needed.

Maintain completed and accurate record keeping required of any continuing education class.

Collaborate and partnering with all Account Managers on the Business Services Team for various industry projects.

Engage in marketing and recruitment of OMTA course offerings

Instruct other industry type training as necessary upon request pending the existing set instructional scheduling.
